Salzburg, January 2008 - After already being awarded in 2005, Klüber Lubrication Austria in 2007 again obtained 3rd place for the “Innovation of Salzburg Economy Award”, donated by the Austrian State of Salzburg .The jury awarded the development of a new lubrication system for an orthopaedic and surgical tool called “Vinci”. Together with its co-development partner, the Austrian W&H Dentalwerk GmbH, the Klüber team delivered a concept for the lubrication of a multi-tool-carrier which medical professionals use for surgical and orthopaedic invasive procedures on human bones. Vinci consists of pistol-shaped, accumulator powered drive units, to which several tools can be attached, e.g. milling heads, drills, grinding tools or concision saws and others. The lightweight device carrier has to withstand manifold stresses and strains, such as high rpm, frequent disinfections, splash liquids etc. At the same time all components and lubricants have to be physiological neutral and harmless to the human body.
Klüber delivered a lubrication concept not only fulfilling all technical specs but also providing lifetime lubrication, granting reliable lubrication of moving parts over the entire lifespan of the device.
