Success with environmentally-friendly processes
It was not until truly recyclable cleaners came to market that it was possible to replace solvent-based industrial cleaners. For decades the very idea of dispensing with chromates for corrosion protection was unthinkable – today, trivalent passivations are standard. SurTec broke new ground in both fields and grew as the new processes became more and more successful. Scientists at the research and development centers in Germany and Brazil are working on new alloys, passivations, cold sealing systems and sealers that are allergen-free, efficient and easy to use. Parts treated using SurTec technology are not only to be found in the home or on the roads, they also fly through the stratosphere or float on the seas like the Pelamis wave energy converters which recently became a landmark off the coastline in various parts of the world.
