Minimum-quantity lubrication is key to efficient production
New high-quality lubricating oil for plastic conveyors in the beverage and dairy industries helps to make production more reliable and safer, Munich
Plastic conveyor lubrication in the food industry is subject to challenging requirements: to reduce wear and friction, minimise operating costs and, most importantly, ensure consumer protection through food safety measures. With the new product Klüberfood NH1 C 4-58, Klüber Lubrication offers a lubrication solution especially developed to meet the different requirements of this particular component.
“Our expertise and experience in many industries have helped us to develop speciality lubricants which are most effective in reducing friction and wear”, says Jesus Diaz, Market Manager Food Industry at Klüber Lubrication. “A product like Klüberfood NH1 C 4-58 strongly contributes to extending the lifetime of the component and also to reducing energy consumption.”
Additionally, this speciality lubricant was developed for minimum-quantity application. Contrary to many water-based products, which are sprayed all over the conveyor in large amounts, Klüberfood NH1 C 4-58 is applied directly. This makes for extremely effective minimum-quantity lubrication and reduces costs. “In a customer's cardboard line, we were able to reduce the quantity of lubricants used from more than 1000 l to less than 50 l per line in a given time frame”, recalls Diaz.
The new, NSF H1-registered, minimum-quantity lubricant is not water-based and thus avoids some of the issues often faced in plastic conveyor lubrication, such as high water consumption, occupational safety and also contamination of the product. “We have been able to bring together our vast experience of several decades in lubrication to develop this lubricant for plastic conveyors”, says Jesus Diaz. The new product contributes to the Klüber Lubrication “more than food safety” initiative, which combines products and matching services to enhance customers’ satisfaction.
